Detmold Hearing Trail is a project of the District of Lippe and the Academy of Music. It was sponsored by the European Union and the province of North Rhine-Westphalia for the purpose of the EU competitive experience NRW.

The Detmold Hearing Trail embraces 9 stations. The first begins at the market square going across to the theatre and then reaching the state museum or Landesmuseum. It continues over the moat and along the Allee or boulevard, to the Academy of Music, then across the Friedrichstaler canal and ends by the Inselwiese.

At each of the stations, you will receive information about hearing and noises in your ears which we call “tinnitus”.

Also you will get some more information about the history of Detmold by using your mobile device.

It’s not necessary to start the Hearing Trail with station 1, but it is best to do so.

You will find the Detmold Tourist Information by the market square. If you have questions, need some more information or want to rent one of the smartphones, the assistants will gladly offer you their competent help.

We wish lots of fun and many new impressions. Good luck with each of the stations and our hearing quiz.

Additional information is available online at www.zuhoeren.info

The Detmold Hearing trail is also part of the so called “GPS Adventure Park” in the Teutoburger Wald / Eggegebirge Nature Park, which has been awarded three times by UNESCO as an official project of the UN Decade Education for Sustainable Development.

sawah® Apps for other trails in the region are available for free. Start exploring the Nature Park region – simple and mobile.

The app is available in German and English language.

Note: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.

Note: When you first start the application about 60 MB of video and sound data is downloaded. It is recommended to load these data via a wireless connection.
